HubSpot's latest release shows a clear focus on giving teams more control, better data management, and smarter automation. What stands out is how these updates address real operational challenges - from keeping CRM data clean to making quotes powerful enough to replace third-party tools.
Here are the updates from the May HubSpot Release notes that our team are most excited about, and why they matter.
AI: Breeze Assistant gets smarter
Breeze picked up several meaningful upgrades this month. It now uses focused clarifying questions instead of overwhelming you with options, can create rich documents and emails in a dedicated canvas for iterative refinement, handles advanced data visualisations inline, and works directly with your product catalog and pricing tiers. Email drafts open in the Breeze canvas with version history, so you never lose work.
Availability: Live for all hubs and tiers
Breeze's improvements make it genuinely useful for complex work. These aren't flashy features, they solve real problems. Teams can now iterate on deliverables without leaving Breeze, which is a massive productivity gain.

Marketing: Export emails to PDF and HTML
There were a flurry of email updates worth reading, but one stood out. Marketing teams can now export emails as PDFs or HTML files directly from the editor or performance page. This solves a real problem: getting legal, compliance, or external stakeholders to review emails without asking them to log into HubSpot. Now you can meet them where they are.
Availability: Live for Marketing Hub Starter and above.
This is the kind of update that seems small until you need it. When you've got legal or compliance teams reviewing email content, asking them to log into HubSpot creates friction. Now we can send them a PDF, they review it, provide feedback, and we're done. Simple but valuable.

Sales: Custom quotes
Quotes just became a lot more powerful. Developers and admins can now build custom React modules directly into quote templates pulling live CRM data, integrating external sources, and providing configurable UIs for quote creators. This means no more switching to Docusign or PandaDoc for advanced quoting. You can build beautiful, interactive, data-rich quotes right inside HubSpot.

The custom quote modules are a goodie. Teams that were resigned to using external tools can now build sophisticated, branded quote experiences without leaving HubSpot. The ability to pull live CRM data and external information into quotes means every quote is accurate, current, and professionally presented.

CRM: Cleanup automation for records
Keeping your CRM clean just became automatic. Set cleanup policies based on criteria like time since last update, and HubSpot removes stale records on a recurring schedule with no manual work required. You can configure policies for Contacts, Deals, Leads, and Projects, and recover deleted records from the recycle bin within 90 days.
Availability: Live for Content Hub, Marketing Hub, Data Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, and Smart CRM Enterprise.
Data decay is one of the biggest problems we see. With Cleanup Automation, teams stop spending hours manually deleting stale records and start working with data they can actually trust. It's one of those features that seems simple but has a real impact on data quality.

The refreshed Customer Portal (powered by HubSpot's CMS) modernizes the experience with improved search, sorting, filtering, and full conversation visibility all in about five minutes to migrate.
Availability: Live for Service Hub Professional and Enterprise.
